A Message From Your President, Leslie Johnson, FACHE

Welcome to the Chicago Healthcare Executive Forum! I am honored to serve as this year’s President.

On Thursday, February 27, 2020, we welcomed over 330 sponsors, members and other healthcare leaders to the United Club at Soldier Field for the 44th CHEF Annual Meeting. The evening was packed with networking, recognition, and an expert panel discussion provided by AJ Wilhemi, President and CEO of the Illinois Health and Hospital Association, Rebecca Kaul, Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Dominica Tallarico, MS, FACHE, Executive Vice President, Illinois Region of Advocate Aurora Health. These panelists delivered key messages on how to prepare for the advancing state of healthcare based on the current and developing Disruptors, Drivers, and the Trends. A special note of gratitude to our stellar CHEF Annual Meeting Committee who coordinated this event!

After careful consideration of the continuing developments surrounding COVID-19 and in response to the cancellation of the ACHE 2020 Congress on Healthcare Leadership, CHEF has decided to postpone our April 2020 Face-to-Face program to a later date. Anyone who has already registered for these will be given a complete refund of fees paid. More details on upcoming events will be announced soon. Please send any questions to info@chefchicago.org.

Our CHEF Education & Networking Committee has been hard at work planning this year’s events. Please continue to monitor our CHEF emails and social media posts for status updates on our future events. Thank you to our CHEF Education & Networking Committee for their continuous work in providing outstanding educational and engagement opportunities for our chapter members.

As I close, I would like share  a moment of gratitude. I am thinking today and every day lately of all the nurses, aides, techs, support workers, physicians, healthcare administrators, and countless others who are giving so much of themselves during this time of uncertainty and crisis. You are blessings and are so appreciated. Thank you!
