A Message From Your ACHE Regent, Kenneth Jones, FACHE

Chicago Healthcare Executives Forum Leaders:

Greetings to the Chicago Healthcare Executives Forum (CHEF) membership. I want to thank each of you for your commitment to ACHE, CHEF, and your continued personal development. I also want to send out a genuine thank you for your effort in providing care for our patients, families, and communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a privilege and honor to serve as your Regent and I am excited about working to provide leadership and professional development opportunities and to increase the awareness of ACHE.

I am pleased to provide a few updates for our membership:

Regent Advisory Council (RAC): I recently convened my first Chicagoland CHEF RAC meeting. The purpose of the RAC is to provide advice to the Regent, promote the interests of all ACHE members, and coordinate the activities of local ACHE chapters, Higher Education Network participants, and other healthcare organizations to promote the mission of ACHE. I look forward to working with our RAC to achieve the goals of CHEF and ACHE.

Diversity and Inclusion CHEF Subcommittee: The Diversity and Inclusion CHEF subcommittee continues to develop its action plan to address healthcare disparities and inclusion. Several key initiatives for this group are the following:

  • Chapter Diversity and Inclusion survey
  • Finalizing plans for the annual Diversity networking event – virtual for Oct/Nov 2020 – partnering with other affinity groups (NAHSE, NALHE, Asian-American and LGTBQ Forum)
  • Plans include; speed networking, breakout groups and Diversity and Inclusion presentation.
  • Working with Education and Events to establish a 3-part series for Diversity and Inclusion (2021) – fundamentals, patient care and workforce.

Information upcoming CHEF Events can be found at https://chefchicago.org

ACHE Virtual Face-to-Face Courses: ACHE offers innovative, interactive virtual courses addressing a variety of trending topics for healthcare leaders including burnout and resiliency, strategic planning, financial management, leadership development, population health and safety/quality. As healthcare leaders move forward and adapt to the changes resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, we are offering the opportunity to receive ACHE Face-to-Face Education credits from your home or office through the end of 2020.

Once again, thank you for your commitment to the healthcare industry and the people we serve. If you have an interest in volunteering or participating in CHEF/ACHE, please feel free to contact me.

Respectfully submitted,

Kenneth Jones, FACHE
