One of the key goals of the Chicago Health Executives Forum (CHEF), the metropolitan Chicago local chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), is to provide educational and mentoring opportunities for healthcare executives, particularly those interested in pursuing Fellow status in ACHE or just taking on a more leadership role within your organization.

Of CHEF’s nearly 1,500 members, over 250 are eligible to advance to Fellow. By becoming board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow (FACHE), you’ll have the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed and move forward in your healthcare career.  To find out if you are eligible to advance to Fellow, please go to http://www.ache.org/mbership/credentialing/steps.cfm

CHEF University is a mentoring/study group session for ACHE members who are working towards sitting for the ACHE Board of Governor’s Exam and pursuing their FACHE credential.

Starting January 31, 2023, CHEF will offer a 6-week mentoring/study group session for ACHE members. The study sessions will be held virtually for 2.5 hours in length, with approximately 2 hours of content review and 30 minutes of discussion and will cover the following topics: Healthcare Knowledge; Management and Leadership; Law and Regulatory; Healthcare Technology and Information Management; Professionalism and Ethics; Quality and Performance Improvement; Governance and Organizational Structure; Human Resources; Healthcare Finance; and Healthcare Business.

The lectures will be delivered by local experienced healthcare leaders and current Fellows, and participants will have access to course materials post-lecture. Additional Fellows will be present at most sessions to answer ACHE- or CHEF-related questions.
