Message From Your ACHE Regent, Kenneth P. Jones, FACHE
Spring, 2020
I trust that each of you is staying safe as we continue to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. These are unprecedented times in our industry, and I am excited to serve as your new Regent for the Chicago Health Executives Forum (CHEF). By background, I currently serve as President of AMITA Health St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. I look forward to working with each of you as we ensure that we are providing professional value for your membership with ACHE.
I am excited about the upcoming programming for our local CHEF Chapter. Each event can be found on our website: https://chefchicago.org/?post_type=tribe_events
– On Thursday, July 30, 2020, at 12 pm we will host a virtual C-Suite Series Discussion with Tad A. Gomez, RPh, MS, FASHP, President, Loyola University Medical Center
– On September 24, 2020, at 5:00 pm, CHEF will host the 2020 ACHE Fellowship Program: The Fellowship and Internship Experience in the New Health Landscape
I encourage each of you to take advantage of ACHE’s COVID-19 resources. The online COVID-19 Resource Center is updated regularly with new COVID-19 Front-Line Leader Series webinars and podcasts, along with numerous other free resources for healthcare leaders. With internship opportunities limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ACHE’s Career Resource Center is offering free on-demand webinars for students looking at the next steps in their healthcare management careers.
The Board of Governors Exam fee waiver provides the opportunity for Members to save $225 when submitting Fellow applications between March 1 and June 30, 2020. Eligible members must submit their completed Fellow application, the $250 application fee, and meet all requirements. Pending application approval, ACHE will waive the $225 Board of Governors Exam fee. For questions about the waiver, contact the Customer Service Center at contact@ache.org.
ACHE makes available a number of tuition waivers for specific educational offerings for ACHE Members and Fellows who lack the resources to fund their tuition for educational programs. Tuition waivers are based on financial need, and the recipient must be a current ACHE full member or Fellow for at least one year from the time of the session start. Members and Fellows in career transition are encouraged to apply. Information on this can be found on the ACHE website.
I want to thank you all for your commitment to the healthcare industry and the communities in which we serve. Please contact me or any other CHEF leader if you are interested in volunteering your time, or if you have any feedback or suggestions.
Respectfully,
Kenneth
